Post-diagnosis can be helpful if I say the vehicle has the symptoms described in this PI. Clients
State / Concern:
Some may indicate that the Driver Information Center (DIC) may display a “parking message” when the vehicle is in the vehicle. This can also be done if the ignition method switch is not in the fully off position.
Recommendation / instructions:
First put the push cable in the parking position. Place the gear lever in the park position, raise the car and turn all rear wheels until the parking lock is taken seriously (the wheels will nott move). Release the twine adjustment lock and allow the cable connection to relax. Replace the cord lock. If the message also displays on the DIC, replace its gear lever. See Registration Number SI 927794 for cable adjustment operating procedures.
Second, check the internal call to the mode switch in the transmission control module (TCM). If the TCM normally shows the correct gear, check the secondary parking function located on the right side of the shift lever. This is a direct input to the body control module (BCM). These numbers can be viewed by implementing the Tech 2 path below.
Third, if the secondary park switch programs parking using Tech 2 data, recheck the cable adjustment and make sure the switch button is not sticking. If both points are OK, replace the gear shift lever. The tour is currently not available separately.
